POLICE Brigadier General Debold Sinas on Wednesday, October 16, declared a no-bribery policy in the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and emphasized the need for strict discipline among the officers.

"I openly declare that there will be no take in NCRPO, starting from the leadership down to the rank and file. No illegal money from illegal drugs operations, illegal gambling operations or from any unscrupulous businessmen who are to bribe all the personnel of NCRPO. This I will implement fully," Sinas said in his acceptance speech during the turnover of command ceremony Wednesday at the Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

NCRPO men are also prohibited from: playing golf during weekdays, gambling inside and outside of police headquarters, entering gambling dens and casinos, entering nightspots and bars unless authorized or during operations.

"There will be strict observance of discipline inside police camps and police stations," he stressed.

Sinas, who was the regional director in Central Visayas prior to his current assignment as regional director of the NCRPO, vowed to continue the anti-illegal drugs and internal cleansing programs of his predecessor, Major General Guillermo Eleazar.

"We will not only set the example. We will walk our talk... The anti-illegal drugs operations will continue to be the focus. The internal cleansing program will be implemented to the fullest," Sinas said.

Sinas replaced Eleazar, who was designated as the new chief of the Philippine National Police Directorial Staff.

Taking over Sinas's post as director of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas is Brigadier General Valeriano de Leon, head of the PNP's Firearms and Explosives Office. (MVI/SunStar Philippines)
