CEBU Sherilin Packaging and Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) A posted shutout wins in the Under 12 Division of the Aboitiz Cup at the DBTC field on Oct. 14, 2019.
Sean Guc-ong showed up with his golden boot and netted 4 times in Sherilin’s 8-0 win over the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Basak Campus.
Guc-ong needed just 14 minutes to complete a hat trick and added a fourth in the 57th minute. Luis Fernandez was just as impressive, completing his hat trick in the 32nd, 38th and 47th minutes, while Mark Anthony Tolentino got the other goal in the 27th minute.
Not to be outdone, DBTC A routed sister team DBTC C, 5-0, with Renzo Enriquez scoring twice. Mark Anthony Talingting, Jayson Genson and Joseph Simagan also scored for DBTC A.
It was the second straight shutout win for DBTC A as it also blanked Paref Springdale, 12-0, on Oct. 13. Talingting had a hat trick, Robert Daanoy, Rayne Amora Renzo Enriquez and Genson had two each, while Simagan had one in the rout.
Also on Oct. 13, Giuseppe got past Sheba FC, 3-2. Young Woo Park had two goals and Cyrus Ventura had one for Giuseppe, while Junmin Park and Nathan Taban had one each for Sheba FC.
On the other hand, DBTC B had to fight back against Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, 3-2.
Rafael Colina and John Sueto scored once each in the first four minutes for an early 2-0 lead but Stephen Marc Cantago and Aldous Gabriel Tabar got DBTC on level terms with goals in the 27th and 33rd minutes.
Joseph Rey Requiron scored the game winner for the host in the 54th minute.
In the Girls 14 division, Sheba FC leaned on the heroics of Mish Catañares in their 6-0 win over CCSC. Castañares got her hat trick in the fifth, eighth and 34th minutes, while Jelena Soon, Gabriel Aclan and Lycas Cueva scored the other three goals for Sheba FC. (ML)
