Capitol employees to receive 'controversial' mid-year bonus

THE controversial mid-year bonus capitol employees expected to get in the middle of this year will finally be released today, October 17.

Capitol spokesperson Carlo Dugaduga said the distribution of mid-year bonus to 1,700 capitol workers will end on Friday.

He said the capitol allocated P42.6 million for the employees' mid-year bonus.

Governor Yevgeny Emano announced the release of the bonus during the blessing and turn-over of the P100-million 8.94-kilometer Jasaan-Claveria Provincial Road in Upper Natubo, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental on Tuesday.

On the same day, the governor also attended the blessing and turn over ceremony of the P15-million Kinoguitan-Calubo-Napusilan-Kidampas Provincial Road in Barangay Salubsob, Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental.

"Nalipay kaayo si Gov sa maong developments sa mga proyekto didto niya na announce ang release sa bonus,"Dugaduga said.

The mid-year bonus became controversial when several employees complained about the supposed delay. Capitol officials were also criticized for not giving the mid-year bonus 'on time'.

With this development, capitol employees have reacted positively and thanked the governor for releasing the mid-year bonus.

"Nalipay mi nga ma-release ang among bonus sa pagkakaron kay dako kaayo to'g katabang namo sa among pamilya," Jun Watso, who have worked in the Capitol since 1996, said.

Ethel Loretero, who works at the provincial social welfare help desk, said that Emano, as the father of the Provincial Government, knows the needs of his employees.

"Para sa amoa, pinakamasaya yan na good news na at last na mahatag na gyud ni guv. I know na isip isa sya ka amahan kabalo sya sa pahinanglanon, sa excitement sa iyang mga anak nga makahatag gyud sa bonus para gyud sa mga empleyado sa kapitolyo," Loretero said.

Ryan Madrona, parking collector, for his part, expressed his gratitude to Emano, saying he will wholeheartedly accept whatever the governor gives.

"Kung mohatag gyud sya, maayo. Pero kung wala pa gyud na syay budget, unahon man gyud nato ang katawhan before sa atoa nga nagdumala diri sa kapitolyo," Madrona said.
