Casas-Tumuran: MBM gives back, expands on its 26th year

THE ABS-CBN Davao’s local morning show and the regional counterpart of Manila’s Umagang Kay Ganda—Maayong Buntag Mindanao (MBM)—has reached another milestone as it recently celebrated its 26th year on television in the last week of September. Another exciting reformat has happened on mid-October.

The morning show has a special place in my heart because it became my avenue to explore and work with people when my former bosses gave me chances to be a regular host for the weekend program and pinch-hit during weekdays. It has made me love mornings!

Southern Mindanao’s alarm clock on weekdays, MBM has been a part of every Davaoeño’s home. While prepping for school and work, viewers watch the latest local news and current events as well as timely information in MBM.

Maayong Buntag Mindanao has always been in the service of Kapamilyas in Davao region, and as a way to express gratitude to the support showed for over two and a half decades, MBM organized public service activities (PSAs) in various parts of the city.

The PSAs conducted are related to the featured segments of the local morning show.

Fogging and misting activity that aimed to prevent Dengue was held in Cesario Abrille Elementary School in Bucana on September 23, Monday, to highlight “Tubag” segment that discusses timely and relevant issues every Monday.

Legal consultation with lawyers from Integrated Bar of the Philippines - Davao chapter helped the residents in Barangay 76-A on September 24, because every Tuesday episode airs “Maayong Buntag Attorney” segment.

Residents in Barangay Matina Aplaya availed of the free medical consultation on September 25 as Wednesday features “Maayong Buntag Doc” segment.

Women from Barangay 36-D learned to make “no bake goodies” on September 26 to highlight “Bisita Barangay” segment that recognizes and commends livelihood programs and best practices in various communities.

Pupils from Quezon Elementary School benefitted from the feeding program on September 27, which is in line with “Bisita Eskwela” and Morning Kusina of MBM.

With a vision to cater to Mindanaoans, Maayong Buntag Mindanao now airs in Zamboanga Peninsula starting October 14.

MBM is one of the three Kapamilya local morning shows in Mindanao, with Pamahaw Espesyal in Northern Mindanao and Caraga region, and Magandang Umaga South Central Mindanao.
