PRO-Cordillera bracing for rigodon

CHANGES within the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-COR) will be expected soon.

This, following the earlier resignation of Philippine National Police Chief General Oscar Albayalde earlier this week who went under a non-duty status with Philippine National Police (PNP) officer–in–charge Police General Archie Gamboa taking command.

In a press briefing, PRO-COR director Police Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson explained as member of the police organization, change is part of the service.

“As far as PRO-Cordillera is concerned and as what I have observed, we are not affected in the changes happening in the PNP leadership and as a matter of fact, we were directed by the officer–in–charge during our command conference last Tuesday at Camp Crame to continue serving the people in providing the necessary services to our community and to not get affected by the police organization,” Dickson said.

Dickson said despite the conflict between Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong and Albayalde, the moral of the police personnel remain high.

“I think we will just wait for the guidance coming from the higher headquarters through the new leadership. I think they are now evaluating the performance of our respective units and based from those indications, it is possible the changes will be instituted also,” Dickson said.

He added as professional police officers, it is expected they should adhere to the set rules and regulations needed to be followed, and if there any issues needed to be ventilated, this can be done in a proper forum.
