SENATOR Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao is planning to build a “Pacman Village” in Bacolod City.

Pacquiao, who was in Bacolod City on Thursday, October 17, said that he has asked Mayor Evelio Leonardia about the price of lots so he can build a free housing project using his own money for the marginalized in Bacolod.

“I used to buy lots and developed it into a subdivision and I distributed it for free for the poor people. I’m doing this because there are so many rich people in our country, but then they failed to help the poor people. I want to be an example that they will do the same. I have been doing this for almost one decade now,” he said.

He added that he has built free housing projects in Sarangani-General Santos, Cavite and other regions.

Pacquiao noted that he used to give free houses to the homeless.

“I want to help the poor people because I also experienced sleeping on streets, starving and hungry,” Pacquiao said.

He said that every time he sees people sleeping on the streets, he would immediately offer assistance to them.

“I just want to let you know that everything I have accomplished in life is a gift from God. All the blessings I’ve received from God, I’m only a steward on it and I want to share it to the people. I’m so thankful to God because He blessed me so much, and these blessings I’ll share them to you,” he added.

In 2018, Pacquiao turned over hundreds of free housing units in Sarangani Province.
