Indian president visits Duterte at Malacañang

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte on Friday, October 18, met with Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at the Malacañan Palace.

Duterte led an official welcome ceremony for Kovind, who arrived at Malacañang at around 3:30 p.m., Friday.

Kovind is the third Indian leader to make a state visit to the Philippines.

His visit is aimed at improving relations between the Philippines and India.

During his five-day state visit to the Philippines, the Indian leader is set to meet with liver transplant patients and Filipino beneficiaries of the Mahaveer Philippine Foundation Inc.

He will also grace a business summit with the Philippine and India businessmen and meet with members of the Indian community in the Philippines.

Kovind will fly back to India on October 21. (NASE/SunStar Philippines)
