IT WAS indeed an amazing and enchanting night for the members and guests of the Baguio Wedding Suppliers who held a FABulous Ball October 16 at the Baguio Country Club Cordillera Convention Hall.

Thank you to Hendrix Sanchez and Beverly Anne Abellera for spearheading this momentous event. Its success was a great collaboration of suppliers here up north! Recognition of the Awardees of the Night (Pillars and Pioneers of the Wedding industry) gave inspiration to all and the special awards and raffles added to the excitement. Also remembered during the night were fashion designer (+) Joey Sadsad (2018) and events manager (+) Jonathan Borromeo (2018).

Decades ago, let’s take a peep of how it was in the wedding scenery courtesy of Hendrix Sanchez. Affairs et.al composed of Anna Lorraine Kier Tabora, Fran Picart, Juliet Puzon, and Engr. Mignon de Leon. Affairs et al pioneered the wedding coordination profession fifteen years ago when no one else saw that it could be a burgeoning industry thus paving the way for other individuals to enter this niche market.

Originally composed of 5 members, Affairs et al, which eventually became Annafairs, set the standard / process by which all other wedding coordinators have come to emulate and practice. RJ Lu, Mike Quirino, Reinforcement, & Audio Enhance. RJ and Mike filled the need of Baguio City’s event industry by investing in high-end sounds and lights equipment which were at par to other urban cities in the Philippines.

Originally partners, they each set out on their own (RJ, retaining the Reinforcement name, Mike, opting for Audio Enhance), seeing that the market needed lights and sounds options to choose from. Olec Josephus. Started as a makeup artist and designing gowns for his classmates in his early years. Olec has served the Baguio wedding industry doing make-up for most of Baguio's elite clientele. Ric Maniquis (photographer).

Ric Maniquis has been shooting wedding photos and videos since the days of film and vhs tapes. Starting out as a videographer for both corporate projects and weddings, he eventually transitioned into concentrating solely on wedding photography. Ricky de Vera (make-up artist). Mother Ricky, as he is fondly called in the Baguio wedding suppliers’ circle, has tapped into the niche wedding market for the better part of his career. Doing make-up for mostly the mass market, his kind demeanor and positive outlook has made him loved in the wedding industry community. These are just some of the many success stories in the wedding and events industry. I am most certain that there are more equally astounding and exciting ones!

Camaraderie, community, friendship and love indeed prevailed throughout the night! Cheers to everyone!
