P590,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P590,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City from October 17 and 18.

The operations also led to the arrest of Ervin Parucho, 23, Bryle Ramos, 28, Armin Martinez, 40, Joebert Ocay, 34, all residents of Barangay 8; Rod Ann Passport, 40, of Barangay Tangub; and Rubejohn Horellajo, 26, of Barangay Estefania, all in Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said that Parucho and Ramos were arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 led by Police Major Ruel Culanag after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover in Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8 around 3:30 a.m. Friday, October 18.

Police recovered from the suspects five sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P225,000, the P500 marked money, and a coin purse.

Pico said Ocay and Martinez were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 led by Police Major Sherlock Gabana in Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8 around 3 p.m. Thursday, October 17.

Police recovered from the suspects 25 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P270,000, and the P200 marked money.

Passport and Horellajo were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 led by Police Major Charles Gever in Purok Paghidaet, Barangay Tangub around 6 p.m. Thursday, October 17.

Recovered from them were five sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P95,000, and the P500 marked money.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 2, 3, and 8 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
