THE University of Mindanao (UM) Wildcats and Holy Cross College of Sasa (HCCS) stayed unbeaten after posting their second straight wins in the resumption of the 2019 Collegiate Sponsors League (CSL) Escandor Cup at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center Friday, October 18.

The Wildcats routed San Pedro College (SPC), 71-59, behind SPC-Mandarin Player of the Game Cayle Manlimos who sank 22 points, grabbed one rebound and issued one assist.

UM first defeated Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Crusaders, 82-77, in the October 13 opener of the league presented by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) regional director Glenn Escandor and managed by SBP 11 operations head Ronel Leuterio.

HCCS, for its part, outlasted the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Bulldogs, 88-83, through the heroics of best player Aldrin Caballes who drilled in 17 points on top of seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Blue Knights, meanwhile, recovered from a first game loss by whipping Asian International School of Aeronautics And Technology (Aisat), 121-73. Marion Angeles sizzled with a double-double, erupting with 16 markers and 16 rebounds, to lift the Blue Knights’ first win after bowing to HCCS, 75-86, last weekend.
