P71,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P71,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts conducted by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City Saturday, October 19.

The operations also resulted to the arrest of four drug personalities identified as Joy Tornilla, 45, of Purok King Fisher A, Barangay 16; Joseph Jarabello; Ryan Tingson; and Joshua Pantonial, all residents of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Tornilla was arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 after she sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at Purok Kingfisher at about 9:15 a.m.

Police recovered from Tornilla’s possession eight sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P45,000, the P300 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Jarabello was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 10 at Zone 1, Barangay Handumanan at about 10:53 a.m.

Police recovered from Jarabello’s possession two sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P6,000, and the P200 marked money.

Tingson and Pantonial were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 at GK Village, Barangay Cabug at about 8:05 p.m.

Recovered from them were four sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P20,000, and the P300 marked money.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 1, 9 and 10 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
