PHOTOS and videos of before, during, and after veneers procedures are now all over social media. It has now become the trend for TV, social media personalities, and beauty queens who consider this as an investment to achieve a perfect, white teeth.

So before you shell out a lot of money for this cosmetics procedure, here are four points that you need to consider.

1. Get a trusted cosmetic dentist.

One of the most trusted names is Dr. Chad Fabular of Fabularized Smile clinic. He took up his Smile Design Course in Dubai and got his training for Dental Cosmetics in California, USA. He is an active member of American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is currently enrolled in a post-grad course and training for advanced Cosmetic Dentistry in New York University, New York this October-November 2019.

Among her clients are beauty queens including Mutya Pilipinas 2019 Asia Pacific International Klyza Castro. He is also a dental partner of a renowned beauty pageant training camp in the country, and the official dentist of Misters of Filipinas, the most prestigious male pageant in the country.

"My goal is to create optimum treatment plans in maintaining and restoring patients' oral health; treat every patient as if they are a member of the family and of course, making sure that my patients build their confidence through their Fabularized smile one mouth at a time," he said in an interview.

2. Veneers 101

Make sure to read articles and watch videos about veneers. As per Dr. Chad, veneers are "layers of material that comes from either composite or porcelain that are placed or bonded over the teeth changing the color, shape, size and/or length, mimicking its natural properties, designed in accordance to patient's profile and occlusion."

3. How long does it stay?

It's a procedure and one of the main concerns is to know if it's going to stay permanent or temporary. Dr. Chad explains that "the longevity of this treatment actually varies from one patient to another; the material of choice (composite or porcelain); and the patient's care and hygiene."

"One of the important keys on this is that, we make sure that after placing and cementing veneers, we still make bite and fit adjustments to make sure that it will last long," he added.

4. Dental care

Lastly, discuss all your expectations and treatment options, including the dental visits, to your dentist.
