IT TOOK all of six years for the love story of young lawyers Diana Joy Garcia Dizon and Bernard Benjamin “Jam” Teddy Aniag to reach the final step of “till death do us part.” They met as newly minted lawyers working for the same law office in Manila where love bloomed. Then, Di decided to go to the USA for a Master of Laws degree at the University of Pennsylvania, and close on her heels was Jam. He chose to pursue his Master of Laws at Georgetown University in nearby Washington DC. Though both busy with studies, they kept the “flame burning” and in time, got their master’s degrees. After this, the couple went their separate ways with Di joining the international law firm Latham & Watkins in Hong Kong and Jam establishing a successful law practice in Manila—Aquende Yebra Aniag Loon & Associates. They have made the long distance relationship work and destiny has kept them together.

On the beautiful first Saturday of September, Diana walked down the aisle of the Manila Cathedral escorted by her parents, banker Francisco Dizon and Joyce Garcia Dizon. Waiting for her at the foot of the altar was Jam with his best man, his brother Dr. Bryan, and his widowed mother, Dr. Madeleine Teddy Aniag.

The wedding reception started with cocktails at the C Lounge of Conrad Manila with its stunning view of Manila Bay at dusk, followed by dinner at its majestic Forbes Ballroom.
