MABALACAT CITY -- The local government unit has started cleaning public cemeteries a few days before the observance of All Saints' Day.

Mayor Crisostomo Garbo said they started the project three years ago to help his constituents, especially the indigent ones, prepare the grave of their departed relatives.

"We want to give our Kabalens a comfortable visit to their departed loved ones," the mayor added.

Garbo said the City Government appropriated funds for the cleaning of public cemeteries in the city.

City Planning Officer Rosanno Paquia said local government workers are now in full force to complete the cleaning of the gravesites before November 1.

"We are now 70 percent complete. We will finish the cleaning of our public cemeteries in Barangays San Francisco and Mangalit before the celebration of All Saints Day," Paquia said.

"The project is on its third year, and it has become a routine," the public official added.
