Zamboanga police seize P600,000 ‘shabu’

POLICE operatives have seized some P600,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) when they arrested a 27-year-old man in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, an official said Tuesday, October 22.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Walid Hasan, a resident of Lapu-Lapu Drive in Arena Blanco Village.

Duco said Hasan was arrested by the operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit in a drug bust around 10:30 p.m. Monday in Guiwan Village.

He said seized from the suspect were some P600,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in five heat-sealed plastic sachets and P2,000 marked money consisting of four P500 bills.

The suspect was detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is set to be filed against him, Duco added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
