TWENTY-NINE agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Cadiz City have obtained National Certificate II diplomas from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).

The recipients are 17 to 50 years old farmer-members of the Dalayapan Agrarian Reform Cooperative (Darco) who completed the 45-day Food and Beverage Services Training under Tesda’s Training for Work Scholarship Program.

They received their certificates during the graduation rites held at the Café Darco at Barangay Caduha-an in the northern Negros Occidental locality Monday, October 21.

Provincial Agrarian Reform program officer I Milagros Flores, who spoke at the graduation rites, commended the farmers for waking up early to work in the fields before attending their class.

“Our farmers were taught of the processes on properly preparing, presenting and serving food and beverages to the customers,” she added.

Village chairman Eduardo Javier said the culminating activity proves that the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-Tesda partnership has taken steps towards enhancing and expanding the skills and competencies of ARBs.

This will help them engage in productive activities to augment their income, the barangay official added.

The course was taught by Ernesto Moyani of Master Global Education and Livelihood Incorporated, a technical vocational institution undertaking specialized training activities for Tesda-accredited programs.

For her part, Tesda-Negros Occidental Provincial Office Scholarship focal person Ellen Elio expressed optimism that this batch of graduates will be an inspiration to all that education has no age limit.

She hoped that the knowledge they have acquired from the training course will be used to improve their cooperative’s business.

During the ceremony, two ARBs from Entorilan Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association also received NC I diploma after completing automotive course.*
