AN ESTIMATED P975,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized Tuesday morning, October 22, in a drug bust conducted by operatives of ?Police Station 3 at Purok Pepsi, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.
The operation also led to the arrest of Guillermo Lebosana, 48, of Purok Mahimayaon, Barangay Bata, and his companions Ariel Jimeno, 31, of Purok Marapara, Barangay Bata; Regie Sabiron, 34, of Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago; and Junmar Gerardo, 39, of Purok Magbinuligay, Barangay Bata.
Police Major Ruel Culanag, chief of Police Station 3, said Lebosana was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at about 4:45 a.m.
The suspect’s companions were also cornered in the area.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were 16 sachets of shabu, the P1,000 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
Culanag said Lebosana was identified as a high-value target within the police official’s area of jurisdiction.
Lebosana’s group was under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.
Culang said the suspects admitted that they have a supplier in the city, but they refused to divulge further information.
He added the suspects used to operate in different barangays and their supply is intended for the MassKara Festival because of its high demand.
The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
