PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) spokesperson Brigadier General Bernard Banac admitted on Wednesday, October 23, that some police officials affected by the massive revamp were disappointed.
"May mga iilan na nakaramdam ng lungkot, ng disappointment, subalit bahagi lamang ito ng career development at immediately naman tayo'y nakaka-adjust naman at ang mga ganitong bagay. Ang lahat ng posisyon ay mahalaga sa Philippine National Police, walang mababa o mataas," Banac said in an interview.

He said a revamp is regularly done as part of career advancement and development in the PNP.
"Walang puwedeng mag-hold on sa kaniyang posisyon sa Philippine National Police. Ito'y bahagi ng ating career development kapag nakita ng pamunuan na may pangangailangan na magkaroon ng movement, ang lahat naman ay nakahanda na tumugon dito," Banac said.

PNP officer-in-charge Lieutenant General Archie Gamboa earlier ordered the reorganization of senior officials due to the retirement of some senior police officers and upon the order of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Two police major generals, 17 police brigadier generals and two colonels were affected by the movement.
Banac admitted that recent allegations about the illegal activities of some policemen have affected the police force.
Earlier, 16 cops who were deployed in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) were caught in possession of contraband during inspection. The contraband included liquor, electronic gadgets and tobacco.
“Well, of course, nalulungkot ang pamunuan ng PNP na magkaroon ng ganitong muling insidente kung saan ay may mga ilang pulis na naakusahan na pagtatangkang pagpasok ng kontrabando sa Bilibid,” Banac said.
But Banac said the erring police officers comprise a very small percentage of the entire police force.
“Ang PNP ay may kabuuang 191,000 pulis. Itong mga iilan na mga pulis na inaakusahan ay napakaliit ng porsyento lamang. Wala pang 0.5 percent na kabuuan na bilang ng PNP. Tayo nga po ay humihingi ng paumanhin sa ating mga kababayan na may ganito pa rin mga insidente na kinasasangkutan ng mga ilang kasamahan. Makakaasa po kayo na ang PNP ay gumagawa ng paraan para tuluyang masibak sa serbisyo ang mga tiwaling pulis,” he added.
The PNP has been in hot water following the conduct of Senate investigation on “ninja cops”, which implicated resigned PNP chief Oscar Albayalde.
