THE Iloilo Provincial Population Office (PPO) will represent Western Visayas in the National Kaunlarang Pantao Award by the Commission on Population and Development (Popcom).

The PPO was adjudged as most outstanding provincial population office in Western Visayas. Its head, Engr. Ramon Yee, was named second most outstanding provincial population officer.

The town of Cabatuan also won as most outstanding municipal population office.

Preciosa Gallaron earned the second place for most outstanding municipal population officer, while Lilibeth Tantiado won second place for most outstanding barangay service point officer.

Yee said they aim to make PPO the best population office in the country.

“These citations would not have been received had it not been of the sustained support of the provincial government officials, the different departments, the previous and present administrations, and the various stakeholders,” Yee said.

The awards were given by Popcom during the Regional Population Congress in Punta Villa Resort on October 17.

The Congress was themed, "Local Government Units: Partners in Reaping Demographic Dividend towards Climate Resilience and Sustainable Cities and Communities.” (PR)
