A WISE college classmate once said, “There are two types of students—the book smart and the street smart.”
Now, this is the same classmate who never gets caught cheating in class.
What we’re about to teach you is a combination of book smart and street smart. These tips were taken from college students and professors. This is about getting that sweet, sweet “A” without getting expelled or having a guilty conscience.
With that, here are four college tips for straight A grades without cheating:
*Befriend seniors
Those who ask are stupid for only five minutes. Those who don’t are stupid forever. And who better to ask than senior students? Whether it may be deciding on a teacher or a class to take, it is wise to get knowledge from those with experience. Asking may be free, but the information gained from seniors is priceless. Learn from their mistakes.
*Know your priorities
This professor is very strict with attendance, and you’re always late? Don’t pick him. Can’t handle an imposing teacher? Don’t take his class. You should know your work ethics enough to understand when a professor will be incompatible with you.
*Leave a good impression
By now, I trust that you know your teacher’s habits based on your senior’s advice. You just need to leave a good impression now. A good impression is that 0.5 difference between an A and a B+. Some teachers like quiet and behave students while there are those who enjoy participative classes. Know what your teacher prefers and let him/her feel that you want to pass the course with flying colors. Don’t be late for class and prepare for quizzes and exams. Don’t worry. They’ll know if you’re aiming for a Latin award. Your grade-hungry aura won’t escape them.
*Study the syllabus lessons in advance
Yes, you need to study. You’ve got to put in some effort. The syllabus is not just an additional scratch paper. It’s your guide to the weekly scriptures that your professor will drawl for a semester. The knowledge you get from studying in advance will be handy for abrupt recitations.
As much as we want these tips to help improve grades, these tips are useless without effort. Goals take time and persistence to achieve.
