Donaire: Pacman by decision

TWO-division world champion Nonito Donaire predicted that the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey at the state-of-the-art Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas this Sunday will go the distance in favor of the Filipino pound-for-pound king.

Donaire, the current interim World Boxing Association super flyweight titlist, is convinced that the fight would end by decision because Clottey, who has never been knocked out in his career, has a granite chin.

“Matapang din itong si Clottey most likely siguro mga 80 or 85 percent magde-desisyon yon in Manny’s favor but then there’s always that 15 percent na he (Pacquiao) will take him out,” the 27-year-old Donaire told the ABS-CBN website.

“He’s going to do well. I know Manny, he focuses well... hindi pa ako nakakakita ng tao and fighter na ganoon ka-disiplinado in terms of working out,” Donaire said.

Donaire clinched an easy victory in his last title defense last Feb. 13 at the Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas and knocked out Mexican Manuel Vargas in the third round.

Donaire plans to land a fight with some of the elite fighters in the lower weight categories like Vic Darchinynan, Fernando Montiel, Eric Morel and Juan Manuel Lopez.

Celebrities and famous faces will be flocking to the $1.2 billion Cowboys Stadium to watch the world’s No.1 fighter in action. Reported to be among the famous personalities who will be in attendance is boxing fan and former US president George W. Bush.

He is expected to be in the VIP luxury suite with his wife, Laura, and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
