THE Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will implement a road closure at the downtown area and Lacson Street during the highlights of the 40th MassKara Festival from October 25 to 27, 2019.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Luisito Acebuche, head of BTAO, said Wednesday, October 23, 2019 that there will be a road closure in the downtown area and Lacson Street which will start from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. of the following day.
He said the public utility vehicles will be affected by the traffic rerouting, especially during the Electric MassKara and street dance competition.
Those public utility jeepneys (PUJs) plying the routes of Magsungay Airport-Central Market from Barangay Magsungay will take right turn going to Magsaysay Street then left turn going to Araneta Street and Roxas Street, and another right turn to Lacson Street going to Magsaysay Street, all the way back to point of origin.
PUJs plying the routes of Pta. Taytay, Aijis, Tangub-Central Market from south part of Araneta Street will take a right turn going to Roxas Street and Lacson Street then, take another right turn going to Magsaysay Street and Araneta Street all the way to point of destination.
PUJs plying the routes of Doña Juliana, Mansilingan, Taculing-Central Market from Hernaez Avenue will take right turn going to Gatuslao Street, and from Barangay Taculing will take left turn going to Hernaez Street and Mabini Street then, take a left turn going to Margarita Street and another left turn going to Lopez Jaena Street and Hernaez Street all the way to point of destination.
Shopping-San Agustin-Libertad route from point of origin will go straight going to Lopez Jaena Street, Margarita Street, Hernaez Street, and Mabini Street then take a left turn going to Gonzaga Street to Locsin Street, Burgos Street and take another right turn going to BBB Street and Galo Street then take a left turn going to Hilado Street all the way to point of destination.
Shopping-La Salle-Libertad route from point of origin will take a right turn going to Burgos Street and Gonzaga Street then take a left turn going to Bonifacio Street and Luzuriaga Street then take a right turn to Mabini Street going to Lacson Street and Mabini Street then, take a left turn left turn going to Margarita Street and Lopez Jaena Street all the way back to point of origin.
Bata, Mandalagan-Libertad route from Lacson Street will take right turn going to B.S Aquino Drive and Gatusla Street then, take a right turn going to Gatuslao Street and Burgos Street then take a left turn going to San Juan Street and Rizal Street then take a left turn going to Palanca Road and Luzuriaga Street then take a right turn going to San Juan Street and Rosario Street then, take left turn going to Yulo Street and Lizares Street then, another right turn going to Araneta Street, Alunan Extension and Capitana Dicang Road going to Roxas Street then, take a left turn going to Lacson Street and Lizares Street all the way to Hernaez Street then, take another left turn to Locsin Street going to Rizal Street then, take a right turn to Gatuslao Street going to North Capitol Road and take left turn going to Aguinaldo Street, B.S Aquino Drive and Lacson Street all the way to point of destination.
Banago-Libertad route from point of origin go straight to San Juan Street going to Burgos Street to Palanca Road then, take a left turn to Luzuriaga Street going to San Juan Street then, take a right turn to Rosario Street going to Yulo Street then, take a left turn to Alunan Street going to Capitana Dicang Street going to North Capitol Road and San Juan Street all the way back to point of origin.
Eroreco-Central Market route from Hilado Street will take a right turn to Galo Street then take a left turn to Mabini Street going to Gonzaga Street and another right turn to Locsin Street and Galo Street going to Hilado Street all the way to point of destination.
PUJs plying the routes of Fortune Towne, Homesite-Central Market from point of origin via Burgos Street will take a left turn to Lacson Street going to Gonzaga Street and Locsin Street and take another right turn going to Burgos Street all the way to point of destination.
PUJs plying the routes of Sta.Fe-Central Market from Burgos Street will take a left turn to Hilado Street then, take a right turn to Gatuslao Street then left turn to Mabini Street, another right turn to Gonzaga Street, Locsin Street, Galo Street going to BBB Street and Burgos Street all the way to point of destination.
FF Gonzaga-Central Market route from Burgos Street will take a left turn going to Lacson Street to Gonzaga Street then take a right turn to Locsin Street going to Burgos Street all the way to point of destination.
Acebuche said they will also implement a one-way traffic scheme in the area of Villa Angela and Helvetia Street.
He said they will deploy a total of 390 traffic enforcers as well as the barangays force multipliers to various areas to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
BTAO will also implement the truck ban at the Circumferential Road. BTAO chief also asked the cooperation of the drivers and commuters to follow the traffic rerouting to avoid inconvenience.
