LCC-Bacolod grad wins Ruby MassKara Queen title

BACOLOD City has a new queen in the person of Ms. Trecia M. Tuquero.

She was crowned by 1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz during the pageant Wednesday night, October 23, 2019, as Bacolod's Ruby MassKara Festival Queen.

She was followed by candidate No. 7, Chaira Victoria Juarez as first runner up and Miss Marie Peña, candidate No. 6 as second runner-up.

The new queen succeeded 2018 MassKara queen Ella Mercado.

Ms. Tuquero was proclaimed winner by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia. She also bagged Best in Festival attire.

The grandiose event has captured the world as netizens covered the prestigious pageant on live stream.

The new queen was grateful of her feat as she really worked hard for the Ruby crown.

She believes that, “The beauty of never giving up in pursuing your dreams is becoming a better version of yourself.”

Tuquero, 21 of Barangay 36, graduated Magna Cum Laude in Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at La Consolacion College–Bacolod in 2019.

She dreams to become a flight attendant of an international airline someday. She also plans to have her own business and join a national beauty pageant.

Special awards

Candidate No. 10 Queenie Edessa Amarante was named as Miss Mardi Gras, Best in Swimsuit, Best in Gown and Best Gown Design. She was also awarded as Miss Bioskin, Miss Air Asia, Miss TCL, Miss Kings Herbal and Miss Grab.

Candidate No. 9 Janine Cabrillos was named Miss Congeniality.

Candidate No. 4 Andrea Sagario was named Best in Talent. She also bested the "Yuhom Online Star" following her winning in the online poll via the MassKara mobile application, Yuhom.

Candidate No. 3 Moira Maci Abesamis is Miss Novellino and Miss Coca-Cola.

Candidate No.1 Christine Mendoza is Miss Wilkins, Miss 2GO and Miss CoHo.

Candidate No. 4 Andrea Sagario was named Miss Chooks-to-Go and Miss Liberty Insurance.

Candidate No. 8 Chainee May Ang is Miss Magnolia.

Candidate No. 7 Chaira Victoria Juarez is Miss Supercat.
