DepEd installs new education official in Bacolod

THE Department of Education (DepEd) newly designated top official in the Bacolod City Schools Division has enjoined colleagues in the public education system to welcome the assistance offered by the schools division.

Gladys Amylaine Sales, officer-in-charge Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS), spoke during her turnover ceremony. She said: “Any efforts from the division extended to all of you - be it school heads, supervisors, teachers, and non-teaching staff, are help from the division office, and that’s part of the performance management obligation.”

According to Sales, despite some imperfections, the organization is trying to improve the system unlike in the past.

“It’s actually better than before. The important thing is, the people being placed in the position should be open-minded,” Sales said.

Sales was previously assigned at DepEd Division of Bacolod and Cadiz cities prior to her installation back in Metro Bacolod.

During her 18-month stint in Cadiz City, Sales narrated of having a very good working relationship with the colleagues.

“We did a very holistic kind of training, development programs for everybody not only for the school children but for teachers as well and non-teaching personnel,” Sales shared.

The DepEd official also cited a nurturing environment, as part of the duties and responsibilities in sustaining the high performance and standards in the workplace.

Meanwhile, Dondy Depositario, Education Program supervisor of DepEd Cadiz City - School Governance and Operation Division (SGOD), expressed his appreciation to Sales for imparting significant milestones among teaching and non-teaching personnel assigned in the Cadiz City schools division.

“She made us feel and believe na ang leadership ay wala sa edad, wala sa mukha ‘yan but nasa puso ‘yan (that leadership is not about age and beauty, rather it’s all in the heart),” Depositario underscored.

Prior to the turn-over program, about a hundred school heads, teachers, and non-teaching staff of DepEd Cadiz City held a send-off motorcade in Bacolod City. (PR)
