THE Cokaliong Shipping Lines will be hosting its first-ever fun run dubbed as the Cokaliong Run Full Speed30 set on Dec. 1, 2019 at the SM City Cebu Northwing parking area.
The event is part of the company’s 30th anniversary celebration. It will feature three categories—the men’s and women’s 21-kilometer, 12K and 5K.
“We wanted to do an event that’s for everyone. With the fun run, our employees, families and the community can join,” said lawyer Chesna Cokaliong of Cokaliong Shipping Lines on Thursday’s press conference at the Bayfront Hotel.
“This is the first time that we will hold a fun run. This is a sort of giving back to the community,” she added.
The race will be for the benefit of the Edgar Cokaliong Foundation Inc.
“The entire proceeds will go to the Edgar Cokaliong Foundation Inc. which grants scholarships to the deserving Filipinos and helps those who are affected by calamities,” said Cokaliong.
The organizers encourage the runners to register early as they will limit the number of participants to 1,200. Race director Kenneth Casquejo said more than half of the slots are already sold.
All the finishers in the three categories will receive a medal, while the finishers in the 21K will get a finishers’ shirt. About P100,000 worth of prizes will be raffled off. The participants will also be treated to a free breakfast courtesy of Orange Brutus.
The podium finishers in the men’s and women’s half-marathon race will get P10,000, P5,000 and P3,000 in cash prizes. The 12K winners will receive P5,000, P3,000 and P1,000, while the Top 3 in the 5K will win P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
Registration fee is P550 for the 5K, P750 for the 12K and P1,200 for the 21K. Entry forms are available at the SM City Cebu booth near Zark’s Burger. RSC
