Mothers receive hygiene kits

AROUND 100 mothers who just gave birth at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) in Cebu City received Absolute Mommy Welfare Bags on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019.

Marriane Cantos, representative of Absolute Distilled Drinking Water, said the nationwide activity, now on its seventh year, was held to promote breastfeeding.

“We are celebrating the Mommy Welfare Month every September,” she said.

Cantos said statistics show that most pregnant mothers give birth during “ber” months—September, October, November and December.

“We are promoting to them to do the breastfeeding and drink clean water,” she said.

The distributed mommy kits contain a bottle of Absolute, hygiene alcohol, baby cologne, baby oil, feminine wash and baby towels.

Among those who received the kits were mothers who were admitted to the VSMMC’s kangaroo mother-care ward, breastfeeding ward and well-baby ward.

Cantos said they aim to visit 36 hospitals nationwide for this year. However, Absolute is planning to increase its visits in the coming years. (WENILYN B. SABALO)
