OVER 100 wedding suppliers and performers gathered on Oct. 4, 2019 to volunteer for the Cebu City Government’s 13th mass wedding.
The mass wedding held at the Redemptorist Church was reported to be the grandest one to date. A reception followed at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, making the day special to 100 couples who also received rings from Diagold.
It was the first project of Councilor Niña Mabatid as chairperson of the women’s and family affairs committee.
Mabatid personally gathered all the wedding suppliers, photographers, hosts, event stylists, planners, and sponsors for gifts and prizes. Different brands and organizations were tapped to bring the couples’ dream wedding to life.
According to Mabatid, it has been her goal to make this year’s mass wedding an affair to remember for all couples.
“The happy faces of the couples show that we achieved the goal of giving them their dream wedding. All of these would not be made possible without the wedding suppliers, volunteers, sponsors, the working committee, our venue partner, and the trust and support of our beloved Mayor Edgardo Labella,” Mabatid said.
One of the volunteers, photographer Manuel Jr Reyes Gonzales, offered his time and effort to capture the couples’ fairy-tale-esque moments despite his disability.
“I would like to freeze some of the moments of the couples so they could have something to cherish forever,” he said. (MARYMIL M. CABRERA)
