Cabalcar wins MassKara choreographers’ dance showdown anew

SEGUNDO Jesus Cabalcar Jr., a MassKara dance trainer of Barangay Tangub in Bacolod City, was adjudged champion in the second Congressmen Greg Gasataya Face-Off: MassKara Choreographers’ Dance Showdown in Bacolod City public plaza on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

Cabalcar, a defending champion, defeated Emiljune Bantolo, a MassKara dance trainer of Barangay 16, who was also named as first runner-up.

Jenro Aloro, a MassKara dance trainer of Barangay 32, was named second runner-up after he defeated William Bangcaya, a MassKara dance trainer of Barangay Banago, who secured the third spot.

All the winners received cash and trophies.

The MassKara Choreographers’ Dance Showdown competition has started on October 8 where choreographers of all 14 competing barangays in the Street and Arena Dance competition were tasked to form a group of eight to 10 members to battle in a street dance showdown.

Every night, four teams competed in the west area of public plaza and at east portion of Bacolod Government Center.

Other participants are Alex John Calumba, Joedem Casabuena, Ronelo Mabilog, Agustin Seba, Reylan Delicano, Jao Pastrana, Raymon Cabrillos, Rommel Murillo, Yuri Delicano.

The second Congressmen Greg Gasataya Face-Off: MassKara Choreographers’ Dance Showdown is one of the highlights of the 40th MassKara Festival.

“This is our simply way of assuring our support to the MassKara Festival that every night there will be an activity at the public plaza and the Bacolod Government Center. Behind the street dance competition are our choreographers so we want to highlight them in the festival,” Gasataya said.
