P112,000 shabu seized in Barangay 2

AN estimated P112, 000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in a drug bust conducted by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2019.

The operation also led to the arrest of Mariann Grande, 36, of Barangay 2.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said the suspect was arrested after she sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at 12:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Grande’s possession 30 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 7.5 grams, and the P200 marked money.

Pico said Grande was included in the drug watchlist of Police Station 2 and was under surveillance for almost a month before her arrest.

Grande also admitted to the police that she has a supplier here in Bacolod and she usually used her place as venue for the pot session.

Pico said the suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a 22-year old man charged with frustrated homicide was arrested by operatives of Police Station 7 at Purok Celita, Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon.

Arrested was Jessie Boy Pactes, of Purok Malipayon, Barangay Alijis.

Pico said Pactes was arrested by virtue of arrest warrant for the crime of frustrated homicide issued by Judge Phoebe Gargantiel-Balbin of Regional Trial Court Branch 41, Bacolod.

He said the suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 7 for failure to post his bail of P24, 000 for his temporary liberty.
