AS ALWAYS, I am and was elated to see who the next winners of Mr. and Ms. University of Baguio Senior High School 2019 will be. As a matter of fact, I have been looking forward to this event every year as one of the judges. Special thanks to sir Ian Layugan! This year, I was indeed very happy to see Mr. and Ms. UBSHS 2018 Leo and March win the title of Mr. and Ms. UB 2019! This year’s pageant was held last October 24 at the UB Gymnasium. The members of the board of judges were Atty. Juliet Imperial, Reydan John Bumanlag, Dinah Mcrae and yours truly; hosts were Edward Danielle Cruz, Hail Angel Payas and Raul Ubando.
This year’s pageant raises the awareness on acceptance. Accepting who we are as a person and acceptance and love for the LGBTQ+. “At the end of the day, the word PRIDE, is not just for the LGBTQ+ community, it is for everybody. This year’s winners of Mr. and Ms. University of Baguio Senior High School 2019 are #9 Rod Joeffrey Clemente (Mr. Photogenic, Best in Creative Wear, Best in Casual Wear, and Best in Talent) and #9 Patricia Ann Razon (Ms. Congeniality); 1st RU #2 Reza Rahmani Jr. and #6 Christine Adolfo (Best in Creative Wear); 2nd RU #8 Michael Anthony Gurion and #3 April Cagias (Best in Evening Wear); 3rd RU #10 James Bronson Addag (Best in Evening Wear) and #5 Samantha Minong.
The other minor awards are #7 Jazriel Mark Pondales and #6 Christine Adolfo (Mr. and Ms. Social Media); #7 Samantha Jane Aganon (Ms. Photogenic), #4 Vincent Epler (Mr. Congeniality); #2 Kyla Tango (Best in Casual Wear); and #8 Jillian Lorraine Damasco (Best in Talent). The very supportive crowd roared and cheered for their candidates during the creative, evening wear and the Q and A segments. See you all again next year for another exciting Mr. and Ms. UBSHS search! The UBSHS is headed by Dr. Marivic Mutong (Principal) and Pamela Butz (Asst. Principal).
