Moises Padilla cop relieved for drug use

INSTEAD of getting a promotion, a policeman assigned in Moises Padilla Police Station was relieved effective Friday, October 25, 2019, after he was found positive of illegal drugs in a drug test, which was supposed to be used for his application for promotion.

Negros Occidental Provincial Police Director Romeo Baleros identified the police as Corporal Joey Silao, who is applying for promotion as master sergeant.

Baleros said he also recommended Silao's dismissal from service.

"We do not want a police personnel who has inclination on illegal drugs. I want him dismissed from service," Baleros said.

Silao had a drug test last week and Baleros said he received the confirmation that the former was positive of drugs only Friday, October 25.

He said he already ordered the chief of the Provincial Detection and Management Section to look into the matter for the dismissal of Silao.
