Mambukal opens 'Kaon Sa Suba'

TO ADD attraction to Mambukal Resort, the Negros Occidental Provincial Government led by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson opened "Kaon sa Suba" Friday, October 25.

"I'm inviting every Negrense first to enjoy the scenery of Mambukal. This is the latest innovation where families and friends can gather and enjoy eating at the river with the scenery here," Lacson said.

Ellen Marie Jalandoni, head of Mambukal Resort, said Kaon sa Suba is open on weekends. An amount of P499 per person covers for the entrance fee at the resort, entrance at the two swimming pools, dipping pool and eat all you can for the buffet at Kaon sa Suba.

Jalandoni said the area, which was opened Friday, October 25, composed the phase one, and another phase will be opened in 2020.

She said visitors from other provinces have already enjoyed the food at Kaon sa Suba for the past three days.

"This is unique here at Kaon sa Suba because sugarcane juice which Negros is known for is a welcome drink for guests," she added.

Regarding the safety, especially in case of flash floods, Jalandoni said they have assigned security personnel at the sixth and first falls who would alert and give signal down the resort.

Meanwhile, Lacson said that aside from the Kaon sa Suba, a food park worth P10 million will be added to Mambukal.

It will be located at the present location of the food court.

The project is a counterpart project of the Provincial Government and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (Tieza), Lacson added.

The governor also said that the Mambukal Convention Hotel is expected to be finished and will be operational by December this year.

He said he already inspected the hotel and that some improvements of some parts and designs have already been made.

The hotel has become controversial after its parapet collapsed in 2018.
