Mayor orders release of extra cash gift

ANGELES CITY -- Mayor Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno on Tuesday announced the release of the P8.547 million extra cash gifts to more than 1,221 City Hall employees to be disbursed on March 15.

The total amount translates to P7,000 for each employee and forms the second part of the promised extra cash gift.

Nepomuceno made the promise last year that the City Government of Angeles will give out P10,000 extra cash bonus.

The P3,000 was given before Christmas day last year.

“Starting March 15, the cash gift is already available that can be used for the graduation fees of our children,” Nepomuceno said.

The mayor’s move came in accordance with the local budget ordinance of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) which authorized the release of extra cash gift, which is under the prerogative of the City Government based on the availability of funds.

“We share in the need of our employees to have extra money for their daily needs. We assure them that whatever there are available funds we are always willing to give,” Nepomuceno added.

Nepomuceno also announced the release of the loyalty bonus for its outstanding employees who have rendered continuous years of public service.

Elizabeth Lagman, Department Head of Human Resources and Management Office (HRMO), said the Program on Awards and Incentive for Service Excellence aspires to reward the long serving employees of the City Government.

A total of 145 employees were awarded, 75 bronze awardees, 28 silver awardees, and 42 as gold awardees.

The first 10 years in service will receive P10,000 while 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 years in service will receive 5,000.

The City Government provided P1 million for the outstanding employees or loyalty awards.
