NANGAYO si Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella og P500 milyunes sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) aron gastuon sa paghulip sa tanang karaang tubo sa Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD).
Ang mayor nagkanayon nga sukad pa kaniadto hangtod karon, nagpabilin ang maong problema sa kakuwang sa tubig.
Gawas sa taas nga panginahanglan sa tubig mainom ug walay igong suplay sa tubig, labing dako nga problema nga giatubang sa mga Sugbuanon mao ang pagkausik sa tubig gumikan sa leaking tungod sa ka karaan ug naguba na ang pipe system sa MCWD nga pipila na ka dekada nga gipahimuslan.
Ang suwat gipada ni Labella ngadto ni Acting Department Secretary Wendel Avisado sa DBM.
“Another major problem being faced by the Cebu Ano community is the high wastage of this precious water resource which is commonly attributed as non-revenue water( NRW). This is due to the fact the water pipe system is quite old and in sorry state causing several pipes to leak,” tipik sa suwat ni Labella.
Ang mayor nagkanayon nga nakakuha siya og kasayuran didto sa Metro Manila nga ang NRW anaa lang sa tres ngadto sa siyete porisyento sa kinatibuk-ang tubig nga gisuplay ngadto sa mga konsumidor apan dinhi sa Metro Cebu grabe kataas.
“The NRW for Metro Cebu is around 50% of the water distributed due to excess leakage in distribution pipes,” dugang ni Labella.

“In line with this reality of water problem, I, on behalf of the Cebuano Community would like to request for the above mentioned funds intended to augment the repairing or replacing of the old and delapidated water pipe system so as to put an end to the high wastage of the Cebuano Community’s water resource," padayag ni Labella kansang suwat gipetsahan og Oktubre 15, 2019.
