Yanson family endorses lots to 410 informal settlers

FOUR hundred ten informal settlers in a two-hectare property of Roy Yanson formally received their lot endorsements at the relocation site in Sitio Pedring, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City. The lot endorsement ceremony was held Saturday, October 26, and led by Mark Yanson, project head of Del Rio Realty and Development Bacolod Inc., and Mel Yanson Rivero, the managing director. Mel said the actual lot turnover and transfer of the settlers to their new place is set on October 10, 2020 which is the birthday of their father Roy Yanson. By that time, all the settlers should be able to vacate the family's property in Barangay 19, which is located beside the Burgos Public Market. Mel said their company has acquired the five-hectare property in Sitio Pedring. They developed the area and subdivided it for distribution with each awardee to receive lots from 30 squares meter to 60 square meters, depending on the present area that they occupied in Barangay 19. Road, water and electricity line connections are also ready. Each awardee will also receive P5,000 as financial assistance from Del Rio Realty, Mel added. "This time their standard of living will be leveled up. They would belong to a new community through a homeowners association," she added. The settlers will build their respective houses on the lots that will be turned over to the homeowners association. Aside from the financial assistance, the Yanson family will also provide five tricycles to the homeowners association and that whatever income they would generate will go to their association. Mel said the same project has been implemented by their family to around 150 families who were previously settling at a family property in Barangay Mandalagan.
