P185,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P185,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City over the weekend.

The operations also led to the arrest of Christian Ian Dincong, 44, of Barangay Mansilingan; Joey Balsomo, 37, of Barangay Taculing; Christopher Lao, 39, of Barangay 20; Tessinie Petralba, 18, of Barangay 40; and a 14-year-old female minor whose name is being withheld by the police.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Balsomo was arrested by operatives of Police Station 6 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, October 27.

Recovered from Balsomo's possession were 12 sachets of shabu with estimated an market value of P55,000, the P300 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Pico said Lao and his companions, including Peralba and the minor, were also arrested in Purok Avacado, Barangay 20 at 11:58 p.m. Saturday.

Recovered from the suspects' possession were eight sachets of shabu with estimated an market value of P60,000, the P500 marked money, and P500 cash.

Police Major Jovil Sedel, chief of Police Station 1, said Dingcong was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at Way Side Inn, Rosario Street, Barangay 32 around 4 a.m. Saturday.

Sedel said Dingcong was identified as a high-value target within the police officer's area of jurisdiction and was under surveillance for almost a month before the Dingcong's arrest.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Station 1, 4, and 6 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
