THE Zonta Club of Cebu 1 reaped major awards for its programs and projects given during the District 17 Convention in Hong Kong last Oct. 5 to 7. District 17 has 13 areas with members coming from places like Bangkok, Hong Kong and Kowloon; and in the Philippines—Cebu 1 and 2, Makati, Laguna, Las Piñas, Alabang, Metro Pasig, Ilocos Norte, Central Tuguegarao, Muntinlupa, Pampanga, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, to name a few.
We congratulate district governor Teresa Lin, our area 3 director Stella Bernabe and Zonta 1 president Minnie Yuvienco for their initiatives.
The Biennium 2018-2019 awards centered on how the Zonta Clubs propelled and sustained the international thrusts on “No To Child Marriage and Violence Against Women.” The criteria: Quality of project, lives impacted, number of participants and member involvement. The areas focused on advocacy, service, education, leadership, centennial celebrations and events, membership involvement and retention, public relations and information networking. Awards were categorized as Diamond, Gold and Silver and excellence awards.
