Capitol, Aussie colleges ink scholarship agreement

THE Negros Occidental Provincial Government led by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International College of Advance Education (ICAE) represented by chief executive officer (CEO) Sean Mahoney and Alana Kaye College represented by CEO Alana Anderson at the Capitol, Monday, October 28, 2019.

The scholarship grants will be under the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division’s (NOSPD) “study now, pay later” program that will cover tuition and other school fees, while studying hospitality management and cookery at ICAE and early childhood and care at Alana Kaye College in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia for two years.

Negros Occidental Scholarship Program head Karen Dinsay said that the scholarship grants will be given to 10 applicants (five for ICAE and five for Alana Kaye College) to be sponsored by the Provincial Government.

Philippine Consul General to Northern Territory Januario John Rivas added that this will provide opportunities for Negrenses to work while studying in Australia and to apply for permanent residency in the future.

Also present during the signing are Deputy CEO of Northern Territory Chamber of Commerce Brian O’Gallaher, Alana Kaye College manager of International Operations Kirsty Neaylon, Fifth District Board Member and Chairman of City Council Committee on Education Tinto Bascon, Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz, Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) Head Dr. Tina Orbecido, and Executive Assistant Dr. Jonathan Lobaton, among others.
