BCPO disposes of faded police uniforms

SEVERAL faded and worn-out uniforms of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) personnel were shredded at the BCPO Headquarters in Bacolod City Monday, October 28, 2019.

Police Colonel Henry Biñas, director of BCPO, said the faded and worn-out uniforms were turned over by the police station chiefs for its disposal.

“We shred the uniforms and we will donate it to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) so the inmates can recycle it as cleaning materials” he said.

He added that it’s part of their internal cleansing or internal discipline that all policemen should set as example and wear their uniforms neat and clean.

Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Western Visayas, earlier ordered all the police directors in the region to dispose the faded and worn-out uniforms.

Pamuspusan said that this will ensure discipline in the organization, adding that the police officers are given P14, 000 each for their new set of uniforms every three years.

Meanwhile, Biñas along with Colonel Harold Tuzon, deputy regional director for Operations, also inspected the impounded vehicles and motorcycles in BCPO.

Biñas said the vehicles and motorcycles were impounded in various areas of Bacolod for lack of documents and involved in traffic accidents.

“We want to ensure that the impounded vehicles are still there because it’s still part of our evidence against the owners,” he said.
