PRICES of flowers and candles are expected to rise two days before All Saints' Day and Souls Day, as families pay their respects to their departed loved ones.
One of the flower vendors at the Saint Augustine Cathedral said once the suppliers increase the prices, they will also be compelled to raise their price.
As of now, roses are at P20 per stalk. Last year, roses are at P50 per stalk during All Souls Day and All Saints Day.
Other flowers such as Sunflowers are at P100 to P200 per stalk, depending on the size; Malaysian Mum is at P35 each and Baby's breath is at P50 per bundle.
Flowerpot prices range from P50 to P300 pesos, depending on the size.
On the other hand, prices for the candlelight sticks are at P2 to P5, depending on its thickness. Candles such as 7 days Vigil are at P150 each; 4 days Vigil candles are P80 each; outdoor candles are at P100 to P200; and small glass candles are at P30.
