THE manager of a security agency based in Bohol was wounded during an ambush in Sitio Hawaiian, Barangay Marigondon in Lapu-Lapu City Tuesday dawn, Oct. 29, 2019.

Despite sustaining gunshot wounds in his neck and stomach, Demetrio Torreon survived the attempt on his life.

Torreon was driving his red pick-up truck toward his home in Barangay Marigondon when the culprit went near the vehicle’s driver side and opened fire at least four times, according to witnesses’ accounts.

Torreon had no passenger at the time of the attack.

Thinking Torreon was already dead, the culprit left the area.

P/Maj. Juan Capacio, Marigondon police chief, said his investigators have yet to determine the number of persons who tried to kill Torreon.

Torreon was rushed to Mactan Doctors’ Hospital for treatment of his wounds.

Capacio said it was possible that the gunman tailed Torreon’s vehicle.

Aside from being a security agency manager, Torreon also made deals in the real estate business, police learned.

Torreon reportedly had an argument with a person over a piece of property a few days before the attack happened.

“Mao nay gisubay nato karon kun kinsa to iya gikalalis (We are looking for the person whom he had an argument with),” Capacio said.

Torreon has no criminal record in the Marigondon Police Station.

Five empty shells and two slugs of a .45 pistol were found in the crime scene. (From GCM of SuperBalita Cebu, JKV)
