MisOr officials to public: Stay alert on Undas

MISAMIS Oriental Provincial Police Director Robert Roy Bahian is urging the public to be vigilant to avoid untoward incidents during the observance of All Saints' and All Souls' Days.

Bahian reminded those who will be visiting the cemeteries to bring food and water, umbrella, trash bag for their garbage, first aid kit and ID.

For those who will be bringing with them their children, Bahian said they have to make sure their kids are wearing their ID, even a temporary one, so they can be easily identified in case they get separated.

Lighted candles should also be placed in a safe corner to avoid fire, he added.

"Gidili sa publiko ang pagdala og ilimnong makahubog sa sementeryo sa umalabot nga Undas. Gidili ang paggamit sa makapasakit nga pulong, gidili ang pagdala ug mga hinagiban ug pusil, gidili ang pagsunog og basura sa sementeryo, gidili usab ang pagsugal ug paggamit og mga loudspeakers sulod sa Sam-ang," Bahian said.

The province's top cop also directed the police chiefs of every town to tighten the stationary checkpoints and expand their intelligence gathering and monitoring, including their mobile checkpoint.

Governor Yevgeny Emano, for his part, lauded the provincial police's preparation to ensure the safety of the people during Undas.

"Og mahimo PD (Provincial Director) Bahian dad-on natu ang seguridad ngadtu sa ganghaan sa panimalay sa matag Misamisnon aron mubati sila nga ang ilang Gobyerno nagtukaw alang kanila ilabina sa panahon nga mas labing gikinahanglan," Emano said.
