A TOTAL of 33 centenarians from the different parts of Negros Occidental will receive P100,000 each during the Cinco de Noviembre celebration at the Provincial Lagoon.
This year's celebration of the Negros freedom will also include the awarding of the 2019 Outstanding Negrosanons for their great contributions in their respective endeavors.
The awardees are Rodolfo Reveche for Culture and Arts Promotion for Community Development, Jesus Antonio Orbida for Organic Farming, Charlie Co for Visual Arts, Chef Fernando Aracama for Culinary Tourism and Teodoro Locsin for Public Service.
Elena Serenias, head of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, said the centenarians who are 100 years old and above will personally receive the cash incentives.
The centenarians are Rodrigo Abelida of Kabankalan City, Ciriaca Acuin of San Carlos City (posthumous), Josefina Amalla of Sipalay City, Antonio Apostol of Bago City, Antonio Araneta of Silay City, Rosita Bantolinao of Murcia (posthumous), Lolota Biona of E.B. Magalona, Geronda Bornales of E.B. Magalona (posthumous), Gerardo Carrera of Kabankalan City, Consuelo Chua of Kabankalan City (posthumous), Jose Chua of Kabankalan City, Manuel Dalag of Hinoba-an, Adela Deles of Victorias City, Jovita Espinosa of Pontevedra, Rosela Garcia of Sipalay City (posthumous), Isabel Gultia of Escalante City (posthumous), Ana Ibanes of Cadiz City, Concordia Itona of Cauayan, Aurora Jaro of Bago City, Jose Mamirto of Valladolid, Paciencia Marcasote of Silay City, Trinidad Merabe of Cadiz City, Luminada Monares of Sagay City, Margarita Navales of Kabankalan City, Hilda Piojo of La Carlota City, Reynalda Reyes of E.B. Magalona, Adelina Segura of Cadiz City, Trinidad Suarez of Sagay City, Aurora Suganob of E.B. Magalona (posthumous), Roberto Sumbi of Sagay City, Felix Suyo of Bago City (posthumous), Carmelina Tordero of Cadiz City and Agusto Yulo of Bago City.
The theme for this year's celebration is "Pasidungog sa mga Bag-o nga Baganihan sang Probinsiya."
