P240,000 shabu seized in Barangay 2

AN ESTIMATED P240,000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 2 in Purok Riverside, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Tuesday evening, October 29, 2019.

The operation also led to the arrest of Rophel De la Cruz, 42, of Barangay Banago.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said De la Cruz was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at 7:40 p.m.

Police recovered from De la Cruz's possession 10 sachets of shabu, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Pico said the suspect was identified as street level target in the area of Police Station 2 and was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of the Police Station 2 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a suspected marijuana seedling was also recovered by Police Station 2 along the Concentrix Sanparq Building, Barangay Mandalagan, Tuesday evening.

Pico said Police Station 2 received a report that there was a suspected seedling that grows at the back of the parking area of said building.

Police recovered one marijuana seedling measuring eight inches.

Pico said the marijuana seedling will be brought to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
