THERE are clothes that make heads turn, clothes that make a statement and clothes that start a conversation. All these, one can find at Nest Home and Fabrique Shop on Gorordo Ave., Cebu City.
Conceptualized by renowned fashion designer Philip Rodriguez, Nest continues to bring in unique finds for its patrons. Here, one can spot specialty items for home, food and fashion, crafted by notable artisans from different parts of the country.
Adding to the collection are designs that project the “hip, modern Filipino wear.” These are from the store’s concessionaires based from different parts of the Philippines.
“These items—shoes, earrings, shawl and bags—are all found and available in our store. These are all meaningful creations by Filipino artisans. These are pieces of art you can wear on its own,” shared Rodriguez.
From the banig print skirts, jackets made of twill woven with indigenous fabrics, jusi tops with lace appliqués and espadrilles made of woven Igorot fabric, to name a few, these items give patrons a deeper appreciation of the many cultures in the country; Craftsmanship through fashion.
“These creations are perfect conversation pieces that remind us of our heritage, interpreted to current fashion,” added Rodriguez.
