THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera is hoping to achieve zero crime

incidence in the region this All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, particularly in the 195 cemeteries of Cordillera.

In their security walkthrough in bus terminals, mall area and place of convergence of people in Baguio City, PRO-Cordillera Director Israel Ephraim Dickson, together with Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Director Allen Rae Co, assessed the security deployment.

"The deployment of our police personnel is now in full force which is being augmented by our force multipliers like the barangay peace and order teams, civic organizations and other organizations and what we want to achieve is a zero crime rate during the national observance of the All Saints and All Souls' Day in our region," Dickson said.

He lauded the public transport operators after knowing that no one among the drivers and conductors tested positive for drugs after the random drug screening conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Land Transportation Office On October 28, 2019.

"That is what is good here in our region as compared to other regions, at least they are well informed, well educated of the risks on the use of illegal substance, that is why we are thankful to the drivers and conductors of these public transport services because the operators continue to inform them regarding this matter," Dickson added.

The PRO-Cordillera has deployed an additional 453 new police corporals in the region who have just graduated from the six months Public Safety Field Training Program. They will be fielded to various areas in the region.

"Initially, we deployed 740 PNP (Philippine National Police) personnel at the various cemeteries but at the bus terminals, we deployed an initial 95 personnel, which is augmented by our force multipliers. We will still be deploying solely around 200 warm bodies here in Baguio City who just graduated last week, while the other 200 will be distributed in the different parts of the region to help in the maintenance of peace and order in the region," Dickson said.

On traffic management, the PRO-Cordillera continues to coordinate with the Highway Patrol Group, which is in-charge of traffic at the highways, to help ease traffic through its designated assistance hubs in the region to assist motorists.
