Obedience

"But even though he was a wonderful Son, He learned to listen and obey through all his sufferings." -- (Hebrews 5:9)

IT WAS told that no one is above the law. Everyone is subjected to governing authorities and to the laws duly prescribed. This was also exemplified by the Son of God, Jesus. As compared to other children (disclaimer: not all children), some children of influential people either the rich and famous or of high ranking officials who abuse entitlements, being the Son of God did not give Him claims with any special privileges or exemptions. He still had to completely fulfill the law and all the requirements of God His Father.

This was true when He specifically answered His cousin, John the Baptist: "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness."(Matthew 3:15) He gave us an example to be subject to authorities and live through obedience. He "learned" obedience and never failed before God.

Obedience is personally costly because when we choose to obey, we are dethroning ourselves and our selfish agenda. It will cost us our pride. In other words, obedience triggers our death to selfish interest nature (S.I.N.) It brings expiry to our self-will and our selfhood. We can therefore say that obedience is the only way in which we can experience the power of the resurrected life of Christ and mature spiritually as endowed on our advocated core values, namely: Patriotism, Integrity, Excellence and Spirituality. Thus, obedience entails humility and faith.

Once we've learned obedience, doors start to open for us to be rewarded beyond measure. God always gives us something better than the things He takes from us! We start to appreciate that what He takes away are the worthless things that derail us in living life to the fullest. Then provides us with the priceless things that pertain to life! It also unlocks doors for others to also experience the same. Imagine, in the beginning, through one man's disobedience, all humanity became sinners and had fallen short of God's glory. But, through One Man's obedience, a door was opened for "many to be made perfectly right with God and acceptable to him." (Romans 5:19)

We had re-aligned ourselves to His will with a position of power to overcome adversities and at the same time favor to be blessed.
