THE highly anticipated Rustan’s Beauty Addict event gets a little more extra every year, evolving from an evening of makeup shopping with freebies and discounts, to a full-blown party with drinks and DJs.
Arriving at this year’s event felt like I had arrived at a club—people were dancing to blaring music with drinks in hand and hands in the air—but among the displays of Rustan’s terribly tempting selections of perfumes and cosmetics. Participating brands like Perricone, Clarins, Nars, Chanel, L’Occitane and more offered fun games, discounts and gifts with purchase at their counters.
From the Instagram-worthy installations and bohemian lounge areas to live music by well-loved local talents Pandora, Wonggoys and DJ Gio Visitacion, Beauty Addict 2019: Glow Beauty and Beats Festival captured the summer wonderland feels of Coachella. Every detail was according to theme, including the pastel pink belt bag given to registered Beauty Addict shoppers, and the pink vodka drink that public relations maven Jaja Rama put in my hand. I had not meant to buy anything at Glow, but I’ll blame the alcohol and fun vibes for an unplanned haul at MAC Cosmetics.
