5 nabbed in separate drug stings

FIVE people, including a construction worker and a mechanic, were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Alberto Lacsina, 46; Rodel Resurreccion, 40; Conchitomarie Montero, 43; Jamil Dammang, 42; and, Annaliza Mandi, 25.

Duco said Lacsina, a construction worker, was arrested in a drug bust at around 2:50 a.m. Thursday in the village of Baliwasan.

Confiscated from Lacsina's possession were some P3,200 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (or shabu) and P200 marked money.

Duco said Resurreccion, a mechanic, and Montero were arrested in another drug bust at around 1:15 a.m. Thursday, October 31, in Sitio Logoy Diutay in the village of Talon-Talon.

Seized from the two suspects were some P8,000 worth of suspected shabu and P500 marked money.

Duco said some P10,000 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money were seized from Dammang upon his arrest in a drug bust along Chico Drive in the village of Manicahan.

Mandi was arrested in possession of some P10,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves and P200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 6:30 p.m. Thursday along Fernandez Drive in the village of Pasonanca.

He said Mandi's companion, a certain Glen, managed to escape.

Duco said the suspects will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Zamboanga)
