CAMP OLIVAS -- The traditional observance of All Saints’ Day in Central Luzon was generally peaceful and no untoward incidents were recorded.
Brigadier General Leonardo Cesneros, officer-in-charge of Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon, said Saturday, November 2, that All Saints’ Day observance in the region was generally peaceful after thousands of Filipinos visited their dearly departed in different cemeteries.
Cesneros said the deployment of 6,000 policemen in the region and advance preparation of the PRO-Central Luzon contributed to ensure the safety of motorists, commuters, and the public.
Police confiscated 75 bladed weapons and 42 bottles of liquor while 53 violators were apprehended, he said.
Cesneros thanked the public for their cooperation and support to the police and commended the entire police force for a job well done.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) remains in full alert and all police unit commanders were instructed to remain in their posts to deter any untoward incidents that might occur while many people are returning to their work after the long weekend.
Meanwhile, Regional Highway Patrol Unit 3 Director Colonel Kerby Kraft said that mobile patrols are still deployed along national highways until Monday to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
Kraft said he has ordered all highway patrol field units in Central Luzon to conduct also anti-carnapping measures. (Ric Sapnu)
